Kyle & Walt's Favorite Things 2024

It's the most wonderful time of the year! And with that, the fun (or dread, depending on how you look at it) of Holiday shopping. Not to worry, though, as we've got you covered with some of our favorite things from this past year that are perfect for the cyclist in your life.

Okay, hear me out. At first, I thought this was pretty lame - a fix for a problem I didn't believe to exist. "I have a basket full of all my different charging cables next to an outlet; I don't need this." Then a customer ordered one as a gift to her nephew and we got to see it in person. Then I bought one for Ashley. Now, I'm the primary user. It has six different ports to charge your things, and you can swap cables however you please. The entire box plugs into a standard wall outlet and the LED lights on the front switch off when that particular device is done charging. Most of all it's just CLEAN (something my set up was not). This is a must have in today's day and age where we have numerous devices for so many different things; it's not just for cyclists!

I've used this helmet for a little over a year and boy, let me tell you, I forget I'm wearing it every single time. The Medium comes in at less than a pound and it has ventilation for days without being noisy, as well-ventilated helmets can be from time to time. Best thing about it - the cradle at the base of the neck has three adjustable positions, allowing you to fit it to your head the best way possible.

Quiet, clean, long-lasting, efficient. Waxing your chain has so many upsides, we're amazed more people don't do it. It's been proven to extend the life of your chain and drivetrain compared to normal lube, it's super quiet, save watts (if you care about that), and is CLEAN - that's right, no more chain marks on your calf! And it's not just roadie voodoo - a hard waxed chain is good for around 1,000 miles, meaning if you're all about casually riding around in the neighborhood a few times a week, you won't have to worry about lubricating your chain for about an entire year!

This brand has I can't even begin to tell you how many colors and styles - from everyday lifestyle sunglasses, to shooting glasses, readers, and high level athletic frames. They're light, stylish, fit great, and best of all.........MOST ARE LESS THAN $35! That's right, when you lose them in the ocean it's nothing at all to swing on by and pick up another pair.

A Bell

The tried-and-true bell, what's not to love? Instead of shouting at someone, just ring the bell. Zipping through the trail and need to alert people of your presence? Just ring the bell. Riding through the neighborhood and just want to wave and make people smile? Ring the bell! A personal favorite is the Knog Oi Bell Luxe; it just looks sleek and has the nicest sound to it.

Quick, grippy, supple. These are the best three words used to describe these tires that Walt found over the past year. Being a fan of Panaracer tires in general, he knew he had to try the latest iteration of the GravelKing and they have not let him down. If you want a tire that gives you confidence in loose terrain (and a great alternative to the tire that everyone rides from the brand that starts with an "S"), then look here. Pair these babies with Muc-Off tubeless valves and some of your favorite sealant (Walt likes Orange Seal, Kyle likes Silca) and you have yourself a smooth, confident ride.

Hidden in the Garmin lineup between the Forerunner and the Fenix, it has the same power of the Fenix, but in a smaller, lighter package more reminiscent of the Forerunner. And with an OLED screen, at a cheaper price point than the new Fenix 8, what's not to love?

This is the longest lasting anti-chafing product on the market, period. Bag Balm does its job to a fault - century rides, marathons, swimming, it stays on - so much so you need to spend a decent amount of time washing it off in the shower. Tried all of the "normal" chafing products on the market and they've let you down? Give Bag Balm a shot (and they're made in the good ol' USA).

Not much to say here. Simple, easy to use with a great applicator, very long-lasting, clean, and smelling great, it's the best thing to use outside of waxing your chain.

The original Varia was a game changer for cyclists. We've all fallen in love with being able to know when a car was approaching us while riding, and many of us won't ride without one of these now. On any given group ride you'll hear a chorus of computers doing the Varia chime; it's to the point where no one really even has to announce a car coming, we all just know. The RCT715 adds a camera to everyone's favorite light, for when you or a loved one needs it most. It simply pairs with an app on your phone and allows you to grab footage from any part of your ride, should you need it.
